Denime "Lot. 220XX-54" 1954 Model 14oz Regular Straight Jeans
Since 1988, Denime has been renowned for its impeccable reproductions of vintage American jeans from the 1950s and 1960s. Recently, their production has reached new heights with their integration into Warehouse & Co. This time, Warehouse pays true homage to the golden age of American denim with the Denime 1954 Jean, which is slightly looser and more relaxed than the 1947.
Part of the “XX Series”, this model is made using faithfully reproduced yarns developed by Kurabo, based on meticulous analysis of 1920s–30s vintage denim banners. Blending American cotton with brown Foxfibre® cotton, the result is a deeply textured, slubby selvedge denim full of character and vintage authenticity. The cotton yarns undergo an extensive rope-dyeing process in indigo baths to achieve a deep, enduring hue that will fade beautifully over time. Prior to dyeing, Denime utilizes Warehouse’s room-temperature water refining process, allowing dyed areas to remain dark while the yarn core stays pristine white—ensuring high-contrast fades with wear and washes.
Woven from 7.3 × 7.3 count yarns on vintage Toyoda GL3 shuttle looms, the fabric features strong vertical grain and natural irregularities that promise dramatic fading over time, true to the characteristics of mid-century right-hand twill denim. The selvedge ID showcases a unique white and golden brown line, a subtle nod to the cotton blend and the garment’s heritage roots.
The fit is classically vintage: a relaxed, straight-leg silhouette with a deep rise and minimal taper, offering a timeless look that is both sturdy and effortlessly stylish. Made in Japan with exceptional precision and reverence for denim history, this jean is designed to reward long-term wear, developing deeper character with age. Finished with thoughtful details such as a leather patch, hidden rivets, and a red tab, it pays tribute to Levi’s heritage in a respectful and beautifully executed way.
Fit Notes: Denime remains faithful to non-wash versions, so it's important to note that these jeans will shrink. We highly recommend soaking the jeans in hot water before the first wear. Expect around 4cm (1.5in) of shrinkage in the waist and 7.6cm (3in) in the inseam when soaking in warm water, so please refer to the product size chart accordingly. We recommend choosing your usual size, but always refer to the size chart and take shrinkage into account.
