Kobashi 8 Petals Kikumon "Yatsu-Giku" Charm Medium Brass
The Kobashi Studio “Yatsu-Giku” Charm is a refined accessory that celebrates traditional Japanese symbolism through artisanal metal craftsmanship. Designed to pair perfectly with the Kobashi Studio Classic Silver Chain Necklace 3.1mm or the Kobashi Studio Classic Silver Chain Necklace 2.3mm, it adds a distinctive and elegant detail to any necklace.
The charm features the Yatsu-giku, a rare eight-petal chrysanthemum crest with squared petal tips. In Japanese, Yatsu-giku literally means “eight-petal chrysanthemum.” The chrysanthemum has long symbolized longevity, renewal, and refinement in Japanese culture, making it one of the country’s most recognizable traditional motifs.
Measuring approximately 16 mm in diameter, the charm is crafted from solid brass, paired with a 925 sterling silver loop for strength and compatibility with silver chains. The master mold was meticulously created by Kobashi Studio founder Junichi Kobashi, with a vintage-inspired finish that intentionally preserves subtle file marks and handmade distortions—details that highlight the beauty of handcrafted production.
Each charm is cast by a family-operated metal workshop in Tokyo, ensuring exceptional quality and traditional metalworking expertise. Over time, the brass surface will develop a natural patina, gradually deepening in tone and giving each piece its own unique character.
The backside of the charm is engraved with “Kobashi” in Japanese characters, reinforcing its authenticity and connection to the brand’s origins.
Every charm is presented in a luxurious Japanese pig suede pouch, completing a small object that merges heritage craftsmanship with understated elegance.
