The charm features the Yatsu-giku, a rare eight-petal chrysanthemum crest with squared petal tips, rendered using the traditional Japanese “Sukashi” openwork technique. In Japanese, Yatsu-giku literally means “eight-petal chrysanthemum.” The chrysanthemum has long been associated with longevity, renewal, and refinement in Japanese culture.

Measuring approximately 20 mm in diameter, the charm is crafted from solid sterling silver (925). The master mold was meticulously created by Kobashi Studio founder Junichi Kobashi, with a vintage-inspired finish that intentionally preserves subtle file marks and natural distortions—details that highlight the beauty of handcrafted production.

Each charm is cast in sterling silver by a family-operated metal workshop in Tokyo, ensuring exceptional craftsmanship and authenticity. The openwork construction gives the piece a light, elegant presence while maintaining strong visual depth.
