At the heart of this piece lies its heavyweight Oxford fabric—a dense 14oz cloth woven in a 2x2 basket weave. Unlike typical shirting oxfords, this fabric is thick, tactile, and built for years of wear. So demanding is its construction that ONI had to step beyond traditional selvedge looms, employing specially calibrated machines to handle the chunky, twin yarns. The result is a texture that’s visually rich and structurally impressive—workwear at its most evolved.

The yarn-dyed olive-beige tone, developed through a meticulous sulfur dye process, brings depth and character to the garment. By dyeing the yarns before weaving—an old-school, labor-intensive method—ONI achieves a uniquely layered hue that shifts subtly with light. With wear and wash, it will fade into a soft vintage olive, developing distinctive, personal patina over time.

Thanks to its low-tension weave and Tempi (one-wash) treatment, the fabric feels surprisingly soft and broken-in right out of the box, making it an ideal transitional jacket for fall and beyond.

Fit Notes: Despite being a Japanese jacket, like most ONI garments, we find the sizing of this coverall to be more Western than Japanese. If you usually wear a size M in American jackets, you'll find a suitable fit with this jacket in size 40 (M). However, as always, we recommend consulting our size chart for the perfect fit. It is unsanforized but bio-washed, so there will be no shrinkage.
