These double-layer socks are meticulously knitted by skilled craftsmen using a rare machine found exclusively in the town. Crafted with colored cotton for the surface fabric and undyed silk for the lining, these socks optimize the benefits of silk, including superior moisture absorption and heat retention, through finely knitted pile surface in the liner fabric.

The sock production in the northwestern part of Nara Prefecture is thus originated from the area’s centuries-long tradition of the weaving industry.
