The Samurai Jeans S0710XX-Washi reimagines the brand’s iconic 710XX silhouette through an innovative and deeply Japanese approach to denim. Crafted from an exclusive 15oz selvedge fabric blending cotton with traditional washi paper fibers, this limited edition release balances heritage craftsmanship with modern performance, resulting in a jean that feels lighter, fresher, and more breathable than any conventional heavyweight denim.

The weft yarns incorporate authentic Japanese washi (paper fiber)—a material historically used for calligraphy paper, shoji screens, and durable everyday goods thanks to its surprising strength and lightness. Naturally moisture-wicking, quick-drying, and breathable, washi gives the fabric a crisp, airy touch and a cooling sensation against the skin, making these jeans exceptionally comfortable for year-round wear.

For the warp, Samurai uses their proprietary extra-long staple cotton, rope-dyed in deep indigo. This premium cotton offers a silky luster and supple handfeel, creating an elegant contrast to the dry texture of the washi blend. As the denim ages, the indigo will develop sharp, high-contrast fades, while the fabric gains character and softness with use.

Cut in the brand’s signature 710 slim straight silhouette, the fit features a medium rise, comfortable room through the thigh, and a gentle taper toward the hem—clean, versatile, and easy to style with both boots and sneakers.

True to Samurai standards, the construction is packed with original custom hardware and heritage detailing: embossed metal buttons, jacquard pocket bags, a selvedge coin pocket, silver lamé selvedge ID, tonal back pocket stitching, and an exclusive goatskin leather patch. Each pair comes one-washed for stability, eliminating shrinkage while preserving the character of unsanforized denim.

Fit Notes: Like many other Samurai Jeans models, the “Washi” runs slightly small in its one-wash version. We generally recommend sizing up one from your usual size. That said, we strongly encourage consulting the size chart to ensure the best fit. Although the fabric is unsanforized, the jeans have been one-washed, so no further shrinkage is expected.
