Unlike garment-dyed fabrics, rope dyeing leaves the core of each yarn untouched, allowing for a denim-like fading process—gradually revealing richer and more complex tones with every wash and wear.

Three thick yarns are aligned and knitted together to create a dense yet surprisingly soft fabric that offers excellent durability without sacrificing comfort or mobility. This lighter version weighs less than the original 16.5oz Double Honeycomb Thermal, striking the perfect balance between warmth and breathability. It’s ideal for cooler spring and autumn days on its own, or as a reliable base layer in winter without adding unnecessary bulk.

Due to the difficulty of working with rope-dyed indigo yarn—which can stain knitting machines—only a handful of factories in Japan are capable of producing this rare fabric. Each garment is sewn with a special four-needle flat-seam construction to reduce bulk at the seams and ensure long-lasting comfort.
